Now, I am part of that "babalik ka rin crowd" you see around christmas time, arriving at the NAIA in droves from all over, gold chain around their necks, in jeans and maong jacket, ray-ban shades, goatee, and baseball cap, pababa pa lang ang eroplano kinukuha na ang hand-carry luggage at nagpapalakpakan na't handang halikan ang lupa pagka-landing!

if you only have time to visit one site today, make sure you visit “the little prince”. it brings back memories of high school and the many times we were asked to read the compulsary books (and write the report afterwards, of course).

english teacher gives you the required reading at the start of the school year. tamad kasi kaya, you don’t pay attention to it until it’s the last day before submission. and so you read (with a whole lot of complaints…e.g. “pano ko babasahin ito eh wala namang pictures!”). and then slowly you like it..and then finally, you like it so much that you’re hooked.

twenty years later you ask yourself why the FU@#*^&!@$#@$NG hell did you spend $350 on books on a single shopping binge… and so, you blame “the little price” and “animal farm” and “the lord of the flies” and all the other books that were forced fed to you a long long time ago.

Filipino overseas workers given vote

BBC, 05 February 2003: Overseas workers could swing the next presidential vote. The final draft of a bill which will allow overseas Filipinos to vote in national elections, has been approved by the Philippine congress. The bill will enable an estimated 3.5 million overseas workers to vote in the 2004 presidential elections. It has been formally ratified today and will be signed into law by President Arroyo on Friday.Ano ibig sabihin nito? Simple lang: The more than 3 million overseas pinoys can now swing the vote in the Philippines. wow… kung walang dayaan, kaya nitong OFW block na ihalal ang susunod na presidente.

TANGNA, pwede na natin iboto si FPJ na “patilla ng masa”. pwede na nating lansagin ang tambalang guy ‘n pip. higit sa lahat, pwede na nating sibakin ang mga bastos na POEA employees sa NAIA counter.

LAND OF THE RISING SUN

in a week or two, punta ako sa land of the rising sun para magbigay ng seminar sa mga sakang. hehehe… biro lang. kaya etong chinese new year break (last day na ngayon) eh aral ako ng sasabihin ko. one week sa tokyo at osaka. etong first time ko doon at di ko nga alam what to expect. hopefully, everything will come out fine. nagpatahi pa nga ako ng amerikana dahil di naman kami formal dito sa singapore. at saka sino bang luko-luko ang magsusuot ng amerikana dito sa pagka-init na lugar. anyway, looking forward to japan and meeting the japanese – i’ve got my phrasebook ready and i’m all set.

why do bad things happen to good people? a question asked in larry king live today, in relation to the shuttle tragedy. why indeed? i’ve asked the same question this week in relation to my sister’s illness. i really don’t have any answer. i always tell myself that shit happens and life is unfair and not to take it personally and that we just do what we got to do.

better said than done: i do take it personally and look up to the heavens and cry in anguish… and hold HIM (pointing upwards) accountable. i work my butt off being a good person and demand “quid pro quo”. in short, i ask the all knowing not to play around with the game of life…my life (and the life of the people i love), that is.

hehehe… sabi nga ng mga taga singapore: “don’t play-play” “. laro na nga, nilalaro mo pa.

pero malaking pagbabago. bumuti na siya.
