isa sa pinakamagandang vampire movie na napanood ko ang “let the right one in“. tulad ng grupong abba at ng kotseng volvo, galing ang pelikulang ito sa sweden. kakalabas lang sa DVD last week – kung may pagkakataon kayong manood ng isang pelikula lang this weekend, make it this one. panoorin na ninyo ngayon habang hindi pa ito binabastos ng hollywood. balita ko kasi ay gagawan ito ng adaptation ng mga amerikano. walang sinabi ang twilight dito. kahit nga yung mga gawa ni ann rice, kahit yung 30 days of night o yung mga sinaunang mga christopher lee movie ay taob dito. at isa pa, hindi kakanta ng mamma mia ang bida rito, promise. this movie really rocks.
tutal showbiz din naman ang pinag uusapan natin – kakamatay lang kahapon ni marilyn chambers. pagpapatunay ulit na tumatanda na talaga ako: isa-isa nang nagpupunta sa great porn film in the sky ang mga pinagjajakolan ko nung bata ako.

it is but in a nice way. well not nice, nice. nice in the sense na maganda ang pagka gawa ng pelikula. it’s scary but i was so fascinated with the movie that it didn’t scare me.
the way you talk about it… and then can’t… makes it almost a paradox 🙂

What many people miss about this film is that Hakar (the guardian of eli) is presumed to be eli’s father. But their relationship towards each other is far from parent-child, it’s more like sexually frustrated, distressed but still immensely loving in a way only a lover can.
There is a scene where eli tells oskar to touch an egg and that this egg is very valuable. The egg they are speaking of is a Faberge egg, and these eggs are from 1800 era made for former Kings and Emperors. This indicates that eli has been 12 years old for a very long time indeed to have an egg in her possession, and that hakar (who is human) can not possibly be her father.
The way I perceived this film is that Hakar was once a little boy like oskar and has grown up and eli ofcourse still looks 12. Eli finds a young Hakar in Oskar. Hakar even asks the girl to not see oskar again.
Hakar giveshis love away to Oskar, thus resetting the time cycle of the life of eli.
It’s beautifully made and very complex and doesn’t hand out the story like most movies made now.

..i love the book..coz i was first written on book then made into movie. You guys should try also to read the book coz it has a good story, but i haven’t seen the movie yet..i wish i could coz up to now im still reading the book. I really like the story of this one..one of my favoraite!!Ü
