the years gone by like so many summer fields

tumakbo ako ng 8 miles (roughly 12.8 KM) papasok sa trabaho ngayon. ewan ko ba kung bakit patuloy kong pinarurusahan ang katawan ko. masarap naman kasi kahit masakit. mayroong exhilaration pag nakatapos ka ng mahabang takbo. runner’s high, they call it. pareho ito sa feeling ng well being na nararamdaman mo pagkatapos mong mag orgasm. and oh baby, you can’t fake a runner’s orgasm.

this month, nag celebrate ako ng 2nd year ko bilang isang runner. it’s been a great road trip so far. i’ve lost 40 pounds and gained back my health. not bad, considering na ang kapalit lang nito ay bagong running shoes every 3 months at kutis betlog na balat dahil sa sobrang pagkabilad ko sa araw.

    go kuya **batjay. takbo lang!

  2. nttouch tlaga aku sanyo ni Jet.. =]

  3. The joy of running pare…a healthy form of addiction…
ang sarap ng feeling ,lalo na pag sinabi mo sa sarili mo i will run 10 kms today and then you accomplished it..
it’s quite cheap compared to other sports and recreation…

  4. shots, shirt, running shoes at kalyeng matatakbuhan.

playlist? hmmm… interesting question. i have a revolving list of around 300 songs. pero according to iTunes, here are currently, the most played songs of my iPod:

    1. sunday girl, blondie
    2. golden ring, eric clapton
    3. bernadette, paul simon
    4. deacon blues, steely dan
    5. walk of life, dire straits
    6. tell mama, savoy brown
    7. better days, bruce springsteen
    8. wasted on the way, crosby stills nash and young
    9. tell me that you love me, eric clapton
    10. promises, eric clapton
    11. dani california, red hot chili peppers
    12. get off my cloud, rolling stones
    13. doctor my eyes, jackson browne
    14. highway to hell, AC/DC
    15. respect, aretha franklin
    16. promised land, bruce springsteen
    17. honey honey, ABBA
    18. kingdom of days, bruce springsteen
    19. you shook me all night long, AC/DC
    20. feelin’ stronger everyday, chicago

great road songs, all of them.

  5. Running on empty….
Jackson browne…great song while on the road…
Popi, agree ako kay Batjay..it’s not a generation thing…
If your’e into chilli pepper…you would also enoy the sound of ac/dc
classic rock is for all ages….try Aretha Franklin no. 1 in the list of Rolling stone magazine as best singer of all time…btw she is not a rocker…

  6. hi unkyel!!!! i agree with you on the natural high you get from working out or running…….and having the big O….you can’t fake the orgasmic high after running, hahaha! i don’t think you can fake your orgasms, anyway, unkyel! you are really my idol when it comes to being healthy and growing old gracefully.

yup, im with you on the playlist – it’s not generation thing, kasi my 8 & 14y/o sings to AC/DC, crosby stills nash and young, zztop, rolling stones, aerosmith & Queen. I listen to their Fall Out Boy and The Used . . . so it’s a matter of tastes, right?

  7. masaya nga ako at lumaki ako sa isang household that played music all the time.

my dad had sinatra, shirley bassey and elvis. my brothers and sisters introduced me to more elvis, dylan, the beatles, pinoy rock and everything in between.

then i had 43 years to discover and explore on my own.

  8. that’s a great goal. bihira ang tumatakbo ng full maraton – less than 1/2 of 1% of the world’s population will run a marathon.

major accomplishment if you can do it.

  10. one of my regrets is that i didn’t start early. kung may workout program lang sana ako nung early 20s ko, baka mas malayo ang narating ko ngayon. but better late than later.

  11. That’s good actually di mo pinhihirapan ang sarili mo lalo n pag gusto mo ang gingawa mo.and consider the fact n it’s really help you to stay longer and have healthy lifestyle…tiba….ako gisto ko maglakad lamg habang tinitignan ko ang mga tanawin n kaayang ayang pgmasdan..
