Winding them down on her clock machine

.flickr-photo { border: solid 2px #000000; } .flickr-yourcomment { } .flickr-frame { text-align: left; padding: 3px; } .flickr-caption { font-size: 0.8em; margin-top: 0px; }

    Good luck ulit!

  2. Sir Batjay, ilang miles sa ngayon ang tinatakbo mo on weekends? Given all the prep work you’re doing, I’m pretty sure that you’ll be able to handle the full marathon in June. Plus, you still have at least 3 full months to prepare for it. Yakang-yaka mo iyan!

dream ko ang tumakbo sa boston. hopefully before i reach 50, i’ll be able to do it. i hope i stay healthy.

oo nga sir. tangina, baka kung saan ako pulutin. “are we there yet” ako ng “are we there yet”

Baka maligaw kayo at makarating sa freeway. Nyahehe. First time ako dito. I love your book. Kelan labas ng part 2? =)

  5. mangungumusta lang, balik basero ng iyong blog after a few months na walang silip. maraming pagbabago at patuloy na pagbabago sa buhay-buhay. lumipat kami july of last year sa orlando mula sa cincinnati.
inspire na inspire ako sa iyong pagpupursigi na tumakbo ng full marathon. through the years na binabasa ko ang iyong blog, nagugunita ko ang iyong journey sa pagtyatyaga para sa iyong kalusugan. very inspiring para sa akin to get me back in shape also. 2 yrs ago ay tumakbo ako ng 1/2 marathon to get me in shape para sa nalalapit naming 20th yr hs reunion. since then I got a major ankle sprain mula sa paglalaro ng basketbol at unwanted 11 lbs, pero ang iyong istorya is ay bumubuhay sa aking pagnanasang balang araw ay makakatakbo rin ako ng full marathon. ingat.

  6. hehehehe are we there yet ka ng are we there yet ibang lugar na pala tinatakbuhan mo:p

ako din tumatakbo, sa treadmill nga lang, I cannot like that here, masyado ng mausok sa makati pag umaga hehehe, nakakboring na nga lang minsan mag treadmill, kasi tumatakbo ka nga nasa iisang lugar ka lng naman

    galeng!!! goodluck…

maraming salamat ruel. oo nga, dami nang nagdaan simula nung umalis ako papuntang singpaore nung 2001. 36 pa lang ako nung time na yon, overweight at medyo tuliro dahil sa trabaho sa pilipinas. ngayon, marathon runner in training. who would have known. good luck sa pag get back in shape mo.

  8. You can do anything you want and the only limitations you will have to contend with are those that you put on yourself.

5 years ago, if somebody told you to run a marathon, what would you have said?

5 years from now, if somebody told you to run the Boston marathon, what do you think would you say?

Do it. I believe you can, with all my heart.

Sa Linggo… goodluck sa practice. 😀

  9. 5 years ago, i would have said – are you f*cking nuts? 5 years from now, i’d be saying – boston? bring it on!

thank you mylab. my first ever half marathon is dedicated to you. i wish somebody would bring a camera and take a picture of me crossing the finish line.

  10. My hat’s off to you, Jay. Mukhang uulan yata itong Linggo. I’m sorry we have other plans kaya I’ll just wish you good health and good weather on Sunday!

Speaking of pictures…I just spoke to my co-worker who runs and she told me that typically at a marathon there would be around four stations of photographers taking pictures at the finish line. You give your bib number to those photographers after you’ve crossed the line and afterwards they’ll email you the site where you can view and download your pictures (where your bib number is visible, of course). In the event your bib number is obscured, you can browse through a “miscellaneous” site that has everyone’s pictures until you find your movie star profile. Hope this information helps…

Sige lipad, este takbo, Darna, takbo!

  11. unkyel batjay!!!! im one of your fans cheering in the sidelines! go, unkyel, go unkyel!!!!

unkyel, im moving to NC this summer. so if you and auntie have a chance to visit the gay area before summer, stop over the wine country, you have a place to stay here.

this will be my first big move since leaving the phils. ive lived in ca longer than i lived in isabela now. =(

  12. “…dream ko ang tumakbo sa boston. hopefully before i reach 50, i’ll be able to do it. i hope i stay healthy.”

    Sa 10.46 min/mile pace… very good.

If you can finish 3:30 sa Rock and Roll Marathon, you are qualified to run Boston next year. Which means you have to run at avg. 8 min/mile pace. I am sure in 5 years kayang-kaya mo yan.

  13. Sir Batjay,

Being a marathoner myself. Advise ko lang na isama mo ang hydration (before and after) sa practice pati yung paggamit ng mga power gels. 100 cals per 45 mins. This will help your body fight cramps.

Training namin per week is 130% of the run distance. So if your running 42Km, at least run an accumulated 50-55Km per week.

Two weeks before the marathon start doing taper runs where you gradually decrease the intesity and length of your runs to conserve energy for the main event.

Most importantly, run at your own pace and gook luck with your training. Just keep on running.

  14. thank you. eto summary ng training ko: every week, i bike 80 miles, run an average of 18 miles, walk 10 miles and lift weights 3 times. this has been my preparation so far for my 13 mile half marathon.

  15. hi BatJay! I have a friend who is planning to do an ultra marathon run in the US. She has gotten hers as well as her fiancee’s visas already. They’re both runners and the other year finished a whole Philippine run. She is a writer but considers running a very personal thing even if friends in the media urges her to use her clout to get funding and whatever is needed. Can I introduce her to you via email? For the mutual moral support? I do not know about running but then my husband is also one…so, hats off to your will and spirit! Go, Go, Go!

  16. “…kamusta training mo pareng nano? very good indeed – 10′46/mile. ang dami ko pang kakainin ano? di ko pa kaya ang 8 min/mile na …”

I just got back to running lately after being sick for 2 weeks. I’ve been going to the gym lately and have been trying to complete at least 20 miles/week. Running on a threadmill is a drag so I do intervals instead and try to hit my max HR then slow down to recover then do the same thing again.

So nasaan na yung stats mo galing sa Garmin ForeRunner 305? You can post your data on MotionBased.com and share it with us. I am curious what your training route looks like. 😉

  19. thank you.

Ang next door neighbor ng aming pamilya, may his soul rest in peace.
Congrats on your marathon.
