S: that they love to bitch about things. too much sometimes. bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch. the weather’s too hot – bitch. the weather’s too cold – bitch. the gas prices are over $3 – bitch. walang kape sa coffee pot – bitch. mas maliit yung actual order na pagkain sa fastfood kaysa doon sa nakalagay sa picture – bitch. ultimo kaliit liitang bagay – bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch. minsan nami miss ko tuloy how asians do it (ie, tahimik, timid, keeping things to themselves).
Dahil nga masyado silang opinionated – they sound to whiny – moaners. Assets can sometimes be a liability.
it’s both a strength and a weakness. i kind of love and hate it at the same time, depende sa mood ko. hehehe.
Only you mylab, only you.
Ikaw lang ang alam kong makakapagpresent ng ganitong bagay which would be nothing more than humorous at the outset and another one of your smart-alec-y-tongue-in-cheek observations but when you really think about it, it actually makes so much sense and presented in with the profundity of your sarcasm.
Kaya ka hindi nakakasawang basahin e.
Labyu! 🙂
Sabagay, syempre lahat dapat e in moderation e. Pag sumosobra, hindi rin maganda no?
thank you mylab sa mga sinabi mo kahit di ko naintindihan agad yung prufundity. first and foremost, i do stuff (write, sing, etc) to please you. pag nakita kong nasiyahan ka – masaya na rin ako.
lab U!
This is a great post, very insightful & analytical.
Tingin ko the difference between E & W lies in the fact that in the W they are trained to voice out their thoughts & feelings at such a young age, samantalang sa atin we were told to the bone “if you have nothing good to say, don’t say it”. But somehow we honed ourselves to put our angas in writing (think blogging!), which, in general, the W’s are not up to snuff. Tell the average American to write down his thoughts, and guess what’ll he do (in lieu of wrong spelling, poor syntax)? Right, he’ll probably bitch.
Actually, the reason they bitch is: Hindi nila alam ang ginagawa nila.
i love the way you presented it… the good and the bad side of being bitchy. hehehe…
first time ko sa singapore eh nag bitch yung kupal na intsik kasi akala nya inunahan ko siya sa pila ng taxi waiting area.
From bangkok to phuket…sobrang mag recline nang chair yung american..nainis ako…dami ko sinabi…”you think you can do that to asian?”.Ayun natakot na, hindi siya makatingin sa akin pagbaba ng eroplano.
Sa New York, ang kukulit ng mga kids sa ferry going to Liberty Island…i told them to go somewhere else, ayun nagalit sa akin…”wewantithere!”.
Dito naman si Pinas, kapag matagal i serve ang food…”miss, inorder ko yan for my lunch and not for dinner.”
Bitch noh?
What I’ve learned to do with constant complainers is ask them what they would do to solve the problem or situation, and then get them to act.
Example:
CC: Ah s**t, there’s no coffee in the pot again! There’s never any coffee in this damn place!
Me: Hmmm, well what do you suggest we all do to make sure we never run out of coffee?
CC: Well the a**hole who drinks the last cup should make a new pot.
Me: Perhaps you should send an email to (boss) and suggest that should be office policy. What do you think?
CC: (Grunts and walks away). Tameme siya!
santa gigi!!!
dinner bukas – don porget. i love your short snappy replies. brevity and a bit of sarcasm goes a long way sometimes.
ingat!
hi angela – ang kwento nga sa akin (siyempre ng mga canadians – hehehe), mas mabait daw sila at walang masyadong bitchiness. well, at least not at the level of the americans.
hi growen – musta na ulit. napaka pinoy nga ng analogy na ito. parang you love it and hate it at the same time kind of thing.
hey CBS.
welcome back. thank you very much for the great feedback. it is both insightful and funny at the same time. i even snickered at the ending – hehehe. salamat for the laugh. what you said is true: we asians are indeed trained to keep our thoughts to ourselves and just do whatever is at hand. the people from the west on the other hand, speak out, complain. think loudly before they do whatever is at hand. parang peacock ano?
kaya nga, i love it when the ugly duckling gets the prize in the end. yan pang isang pinoy trait – dehadista at rooting for the underdog.
JENNY PENG – ang miss canada ng sentosa! eh paano ka – canadian na asian. does this mean that you’re a medium bitcher?
LOL
at puede ring gumawa ng similar analogy sa kanilang pagiging “politically correct” at yung sense of “entitlement”!
hello mr. batjay, tama po kayo sa observation nyo. when i worked in our US office, naculture shock po ako sa kanila dahil kahit manager nila ay hindi sila natatakot na magsabi ng opinyon nila. pero natuto rin ako, and i started voicing out my thoughts, pero syempre,pa-sweet pa rin ang tono pag nagsasalita, para hindi halata na i’m bitching…;)
Angela,
Tama ka maraming mababaet na CANADIAN….kase…
Magluto-CANADIAN
Maglaba-CANADIAN
Maglinis-CANADIAN
MAghugas-CANADIAN
MAgligpit-CANADIAN
Magsaing_CANDADIAN
at wala silang reklamo di ba angela?hehehehehe
politically correct – yan ang isa pa sa mga dapat kong matutunan. nagsimula na ako when we were still in singapore. more so here dahil mas malaking issue ito sa north america.
