BAD SNEAKERS AND A PINA COLADA MY FRIEND

TIP OF THE WEEK: kung gumagamit kayo ng firefox sa pag browse ng internet (and you should if you haven’t) then it makes sense to visit chin wong’s “digital life” site para makakuha ng tips on how to tweak firefox and make it run even faster. sinunod ko ang mga instructions sa site niya na parang utu-uto and i shit you not, talagang bumilis. pakiwari ko eh parang uminom ng speed ang aking PC. at before i forget, eto nga pala ang isa pang importanteng tip: huwag na huwag ninyong pagsasamahin ang glue at eye drops sa cabinet. bakit kamo? eto basahin ninyo ang balita galing england: A grandmother ended up in hospital when she confused her eye drops with superglue.” ang sabi sa report eh nagdikit daw ang pilik mata ni lola. gusto kong matawa pero hindi ko magawa.

STEELY DAN POGI POINTS. nalaman ko rin na chin is a big “steely dan” fan na tulad ko. and like a friend informed me – people who like steely dan are normally cool people. i agree. nakakatawa nga, kasi etong nakaraang dalawang linggo, i’ve stumbled upon a few fans – siyempre nariyan na ako at si jet. then there’s tito rolly. tapos nariyan din si celia kusinera at si mrs.

  2. Batjay, thanks for the idea bumilis nga yong firefox ko, thats why I’m always visiting your site ksi I can learn many things. Bobis pa kasi ako when it comes to PC’s eh. Baka puedeng magpatutor sayo…hehehe

  3. Forgot onething pala baka meron kang mairecommend na safe na site on downloading mp3 or good music. Ksi I use imesh or imess ba yon forgot the spelling, nasira pc ko nagka virus. Favor naman baka meron kang alam. thanks a lot in advace

Hey, we sure are reeling in the years again. Steely Dan…. Used to see them on tv in a show called “in concert”. Do you guys remember that show? All the greats use to show up there. Even Suzy Quatro.

  5. hey Jay thanks for sharing that Firefox info, it does make a big difference. Awesome part is she explained it step by step making dummies like me able to do it. I shared it with other friends 🙂

as to the restaurant, I think I want to take you, ate sienne and Jet to a fav restaurant of mine here in LA 🙂 but I expect you to really…really…really…eat! hehehe

  6. Kawawa naman yung lola.I can’t bear to think of it, lalo na pag naaalala ko ang mga Mommy natin. Hirap din talaga ng tumatanda.

Sarap nga dun sa Sammy’s curry house no, mylab?

I attended their reunion concert many, many years ago. It was fantastic; they were terrific live. Hanep talaga. Or was it just my memory slightly altered by the thick fog of pot smoke all around me (second hand smoke lang, ha)? Para akong nasa Grateful Dead concert. Pero high rin yata lahat ng mga musicians on stage so happy kaming lahat.

PS: Curry has been scientifically proven to help prevent Alzheimer’s and also assist in recovery from brain damage. So siguro if I go to enough Steely Dan concerts, I’ll need to pay a visit to Sammy’s curry house na rin.

  8. Astrobatjay! Partida pa at pareho tayong nagtitimpi dahil may mga dinner pa tayong aattendan after that! Sana ulitin natin yun, with matching tong-its or pusoy or pitik-bulag! Basta pag nasa Orchard kayo drop-by kayo anytime — free invitation yun. You can burn my music compilation tas penge na din ng music nyo, lalo yung before my time para naman maappreciate ko din hehehe

  9. I learned about Steely Dan in a roundabout way, when I bought Donald Fagen’s first solo album The Nightfly, which was also the first CD I ever purchased, which is also the best record I ever owned, kasi halos sulit lahat ng tracks.

I remember singing “Deacon Blues” out loud with a friend; it was playing on the radio and we had one too many drinks between the two of us. I still don’t know why they call Alabama the Crimson Tide though.

Indian food? I call it rainy day food – pampainit sa katawan, although my wife calls it summer food, kasi pampalamig naman daw sa katawan ang spices.

  10. hey paul. steely dan via donald fagen is not so bad. i love “deacon blues” and it’s one of my favorite songs pero di ko rin alam why they called alabama the prince ot tides. is it a derogatory term? i love indian food, both veg and non-veg. i agree with your wife – spice is pampalamig because it makes you sweat and sweat cools your body. this is pretty much the explanation why people who live in hot countries love spicy food – malays, indonesians, thais, indians.

  11. Jenn!

    Ingat,

  12. mylab,

  16. The girls don’t seem to care tonight
As long as the mood is right
No static at all, no static at all
    FM–no static at all…

I still have the cassette (yikes, may cassette pa non! Tapos my younger sister saw it, sabi ba naman: “Ate, what’s this for?” Sabi ko: “Tange, that’s a cassette!)

Hey, 19 is another favorite. Basta peborits ko lahat ng rock music from Steely Dan to Supertramp’s Breakfast in America to Pearl Jam to Van Halen. Too bad they don’t make music like that anymore. Btw, would you believe I’ve seen Van Halen in concert twice (Sammy Hagar) and I’ve seen Def Lepard three times! Sa light rock naman I’ve seen Hall And Oates 3 times also. Those people are awesome.

Nga pala, I already tweaked my Firefox. Great tip.

  17. AWRIGHT! ayan proof na cool kayong pamilya. naku, i have over a hundred cassettes still in our antipolo home. siguro inamag na. pero once in a while i still listen to them. you have the soundtrack, but have you watched the movie “FM”? i love the opening “we will rock you” scene.

wow – i would have loved to see van halen perform live. incidentally, i was the one in charge of our conference music when i was in australia last december, i accidentally played van halen’s “eruption” by mistake. buti na lang natawa lang yung boss ko. pero bumulong sa akin – “van halen – WTF?”

naku – Supertramp’s “Breakfast in America” is a very memorable LP. when it came out in 1979, i was a 13 year old kid discovering the world via a crash course degree in the university of life. my dad just left our family and it was tough for me. the music was a comforting friend. bagay nga yung “The Logical Song” sa akin during that time.

    ingat!

  18. it is my first time to view this.nice pic.. real happiness which i never had.. konting konti na lang sana..kaso ndi pa ngyari…life has been cruel to me.
