High Five o “Give me five, up here!” Hindi pahuhuli ang Pinoy basta
galing sa America. Ang “Give me five, up here” ay naging “Appear”. Halos
lahat yata ng Pinoy babies ganito ang series of training, “Anak, where is
the light; where is the moon?” Ang nadagdag, “Appear! Appear!” At dahil

paano naging yoyo ang relos? yan ang isa sa mga misteryo sa tuwa. siguro dahil mukhang face ng yoyo ang mga relo. i really don’t know – nakagisnan ko na lang yon.
hi auee – hanggang ngayon naman we still use those terms. walang stir din. i know nag carry over ang lingo from the 70’s to the 80’s. we came of age during the 80’s as well and used the language of our older brothers and sisters.
i’d like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony, i’d like to hold it in my arms, and keep it company…
ahahahaha! yes, that’s so 70s!!! (i mean that in a very good way). i’ve seen a revival of it recently–i don’t watch tv often (almost never), so it was quite a moment for me to see the 21st-century version of that ditty (brought-back-memories-kind-of-moment).
it’s the real thing – one of the most successful ad of all time. coke got a lot of publicity when they released the TV version during the 70’s. i remember this song very well, it was one of my favorites when i was growing up. i saw the new version and didn’t like it – i don’t see it anymore. siguro the reviews were bad.
oo, when we were kids, inaabangan din namin ‘yung commercial na yun!
bitaw–there was something off kilter about the newer version. it had promise, but did not pack as much punch as the orig one.

i think the reason why i didn’t like the new coke commercial is because of the arrangement – it was so pop music sounding. the homeliness is no longer there.

From your previous posts, very vocal ka sa music influences mo na mostly 70s rock and roll. Curious lang ako, with all these influences, which modern rock songs do you fancy nowadays? I mean, may certain rock band ba ngayon na okay sa’yo?
e yung durog? naalala mo pa? Double line, triple line, sweet paper, omads, ekis, I can go on and on. hahaha
ngyehehe… i remember the sweet paper most of all. kinakain ko kasi yung stock ng sweet paper ng mga kuya ko. i would find out much later kung para saan ito. hehehe.

nice question robbie – the music of DMB, i guess. metallica, U2, REM. although these bands are not really “NEW”. the nice thing about the artists that i like is that they are still around – springsteen, the stones, the who, deep purple, neil young, crosby stills and nash, fleetwood mac, paul simon, pepe smith, eric clapton, dylan, the eagles.
they are not just “around” but they are still writing music to this day so they are still fresh, current and better than any of the new pop groups that have come out.
